The election of the president of the Malian Football Federation (Femafoot) was held on Tuesday, August 29 in Bamako, without the only candidate. And for good reason Mamoutou Touré, 66 years old, elected a first time in 2019, is in pre-trial detention at the central detention center of the Malian capital since August 9. He was indicted, along with four other persons, for «damage to public property, forgery and use of forgery, and complicity» for alleged acts of corruption when he was the administrative and financial director of the National Assembly, between 2014 and 2020.
